Gallery: June 23 — Ardez 3

I returned to Ardez to take a guided tour that I had learned about, but it turned out to have been at 10:30 and not 4:30. I had a pamphlet to accompany the tour, though, so I did a self-guided tour instead.

The road toward Ardez and the edge of town in view.

Varicolored shutters.

All land and houses, no sky.

Split-level portals. I really like all the benches like this one with masonry bases integrated right in with everything else.

Fascinating — old portal arches, maybe? If so, why did the grade rise so much?

The infinite façade of the church.

View from the train back to Zernez.
