July 26: Castell de Montjuïc 2
A most pentagonal of turrets.
The top station of the Telefèric de Montjuïc nestled against the outer wall.
Lines and curves.
The telescope plaza along the northern outer wall. Note the Palau Nacional now more visible as well, above the trees at left.
Beyond the headhouse, layers of walls.
There it is: the whole city.
Nope, wait, I found more city.
An inquisitive dove.
Palimpsest of gun tracks.
A higher version of the Salk view.
Sun and shade.
Back down into the curving tunnel.
Inside, in a space displaying information about the Castell: this floor lighting at bottom right looks familiar.
At that end of that corridor is a window into a large cistern, which was pretty cool to be able to see.
Some pretty sweet geometry on this accessibility ramp.
But lo! A café!
Sky brick sand brick.
Of course I had to get a popsicle; it was a café on a promontory, after all.
