April 2: Trip to Hämeenlinna
We took a day trip to Hämeenlinna both to see the city and castle and to attend a concert by Grigori Sokolov, one of the world's best pianists.

At the station.
3611
Quite an interesting façade decoration, especially for one interested in typography, like me. The building was under construction at this point, as you can see; I'm not sure what it is.
3624
The rotunda-style church of Hämeenlinna.
3625
A whimsical bumpout right nearby.
3629
Hämeenlinna Jugend.
3630
The church was built in 1798.
3636
Like the Helsinki Cathedral, the interior of the Hämeenlinna church is quite sparse and serene. This alcove is over one of the transepts, I think.
3639
A side window.
3643
The organ, over the vestibule.
3644
Soft sun coming through the frosted glass.
3647
A look down the nave from the vestibule.
