May 28: Tarasp Fontana 1
Once you reach Fontana from below, you've earned the right to catch your breath for a moment. Fontana's location is striking; it's steeply arrayed around a near-ravine, the Val Zuort, and to emerge up into the middle of it via this streamside trail was probably the most intense way to experience this verticality.

Getting closer.

By the stream, a sufficiency of dandelions and nettles and perhaps forget-me-nots.

A closer look.

Whoa, two basins and two taps? This is schmancy! I wonder how they waterproof the joints between the beams.

Curious crenellations.

Complex street topography on approach to the church. What is that blank white diamond on the front of the house? EDIT: bet it's a sundial.
