June 6: miscellaneous
Some shots from that afternoon and evening, mostly on a rambling walk back to the apartment.
A sun wedge. From this perspective it looks like the lamp at the bottom of the picture is enormous and is pushed up against the wall across the street.
A fan was blowing the Refrescs sign hither and yon.
Ornamentation old and new.
The northwestern façade of Santa Maria del Pi in the high western sun.
We waded on through the late-afternoon madding crowd.
And then, a glimpse of the Catedral across the grand Av. de la Catedral, more a long square than an avenue.
Closer to home, a silhouetted sky.
This was actually dawn the next morning; we were up until daybreak after coming back from a long night at Club Razzmatazz (this was a Saturday night). I'm not sure I'd have the gumption to do that now, just four years later. It took some effort even then!
Peaceful light, warlike shapes.
Looking west, the buildings were gently frontlit by the morning twilight, with the Belt of Venus in the background.
The twilight through the stairwell roof.
