July 26: walk from Castell de Montjuïc – through Poble Sec

Then back down the rest of the way through Montjuïc and back into the city.

A secluded garden lamp over oleanders in the Jardins de Joan Brossa.

3553

A whole locust's worth of locust blossoms.

3556

3556.jpg

Some nice contemporary design touches along the Calletera Antiga de Montjuïc.

3558

3558.jpg

One more Miradoresque texture on the Calletera Antiga: imprints of rebar or similar metal rods in concrete, for improved traction.

3563

Back at the Miramar circle.

3566

Approaching golden hour over the city.

Sea slices from the Passeig Miramar.

A view on slant across the city, with the Sagrada Família on the skyline.

Nicely sculpted steps at the base of Carrer de la Font-Trobada.

Hey it's Mr. Friendly again!

3582

A look back up to the Piscina Municipal along Carrer Roser.

3585

3585.jpg

A pocket park or square, along Carrer Blai between Carrer de Tapioles and Carrer de Margarit.

3591

An unusual occurrence: a contemporary building within the Eixample. This is on Carrer del Comte Borrell between Carrer del Marquès de Campo Sagrado and Carrer del Parlament. I like the material palette.

3594

3594.jpg

Whoa, a sunsplosion! This is the western corner of Parlament and Borrell, and the effect is only possible because the chamfered part of the block (the part facing the intersection) is so much lower than normal.

3598

Chiaroscuro at the Mercat...

...and along Ronda de Sant Pau.

3601

The sky made quite a gradient as I infiltrated back into El Raval.

3603

3603.jpg

Almost home: late sun on the Parròquia.

3604

3604.jpg

Late light in the stairwell.

3608

After dark, the waxing crescent moon low in the west from the back window.

Once again, comfortingly, the Palau was radiating.
