May 17: Utö – sunset

Once we arrived and disembarked, we moved our stuff over to the hostel and helped move the lumber to the workshop.

Same room as before.

The north door of our building had never been opened during the winter trip, I believe, and so especially with the sun coming in, this narrow, high-contrast view seemed quite surreal at first.

The classic shot, more or less.

Ooh, sun's almost outta here!

There it goes. Wicked rainbow sky.

10:10 PM sunset!

Afterglow.

2375

The rainbow sky persisted as the twilight deepened.

2379

Continued afterglow. It's striking how the remaining sun on the far clouds helps to make them visible even though they'd normally be too far away to see clearly.

The night was white, of course, or rather it was dark-rainbow.

The way the calm and rippling areas of water reflected the dark rainbow's colors differently was really psychedelic and dreamlike.
