May 28: Zernez evening 3

Finally, dusk approached and it was time to wrap up the long day.

Maybe I went up a little higher than the plateau, but this might have been on the way back down toward the churches too.

7890

7890.jpg

An exquisite clover-shaped but gentian-colored flower.

7891

It was accompanied by other flowers from around the color wheel.

7893

The twilight at 9PM was a similar violet hue as that flower.

7895

7895.jpg

Stone strata up to the churches.

7896

The empurpled view upvalley, with very subtle gradations of hues in the clouds.

In 2005 I sketched that same view in my nature journal, as photographed here, and I did again on this evening. It was sprinkling a little bit then, but sparsely enough to write for a few minutes without much worry.

7901

Spooky lights at the edge of dusk. This is a recreation of one of my favorite old shots. I like this one just as well, though, for its evocative tenebrosity.

7907

7907.jpg

A dusky macro of the churchyard wall.

7908

7908.jpg

My trusty Utö tote bag sitting trustingly on the interchurch bench, knowing I wouldn't dare to forget it. It was my only bag for all these walks and hikes.

7911

The Hauptkirche tower around isobrightness.

7914

Heading down the southern way from the churches.

7921

7921.jpg

A peek into the grounds of the Chastè Wildenberg.

7928

7928.jpg

Getting dusky at the central square.

7929

7929.jpg

The Alpina looking cheery inside.

7931

7931.jpg

The central directional beacon once again dominating the illumination stakes.

7932

7932.jpg

One more look up to the church and mountains.

AAAAAAAAAAAA WHAT IS THAT oh it's just the shadow of the multisink faucet.
